Trade Roundup: Up All Night, Last Man Standing, Don’t Trust the B— in Apartment 23

Rumor has it that NBC may switch Up All Night to Thursdays after The Office and put Whitney on Wednesdays at 8. Here is a short play about this news:

NBC: Well, it just makes more sense, ‘cause Up All Night is single-camera and has a workplace element, like the other shows on Thursday.

Everyone else: Duh.

Following the misogynist-pleasing news of Last Man Standing’s full season order, creator Jack Burditt is leaving the show and Kevin Abbott is stepping in as showrunner. For much of the fall while Burditt was on a leave of absence, his “deputies” Marsh McCall and Andy Gordon were handling things, so who knows what (if anything) the reign of Abbott will bring. But it sounds like a scary chapter from a book on British history. “The reign of Abbott,” that’s scary, right? There’s gonna be beheadings in that chapter.

Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men’s Sally Draper) is going to guest star on Don’t Trust the B— in Apartment 23 as herself. Her plotline will involve James Van Der Beer’s character, James Van Der Beek, signing on to do a movie when he hears she is his costar. Dunno how this show will have time for trusting or not trusting anyone in any number apartment with all these showbiz storylines and guest stars, but I am eager to find out.

CBS has cut Rules of Engagement’s order by five episodes to make room for the mid-season Rob Schneider sitcom. But how will David Spade sleazily hit on women and Patrick Warburton avoid spending time with his wife now? HOW?
