Mirren would play Hitchock’s wife, Alma Reville, in Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, an adaptation of the Stephen Rebello book by the same name. The movie, about Hitchcock’s “struggles” to make a déclassé (but ultimately, obviously, wildly successful) horror film, is now at Fox Searchlight after four years in development in Paramount; Anthony Hopkins is attached to play Hitchcock, and Sasha Gervasi, of Anvil! The Story of Anvil fame, will direct. Important question, should all this pan out: Was the famous shower scene based in any way on Hitchcock’s home life? The Helen Mirren Beachwear Fan Club needs to know.
