The second season of the fifties-set British journalism drama The Hour will be adding some new characters in addition to its returning cast, the BBC announced today, with Peter Capaldi among the newbies. Cue our Tom Haverford face! Capaldi’s best known for his mellifluous delivery of an endless stream of creative obscenities on The Thick of It and in In the Loop, and he played Sid’s dad on Skins. On The Hour, he’ll play Randall Brown, the new head of news who rubs some people the wrong way. Maybe he just keeps telling them to fuck off …
