La Cage aux Folles
In honor of Glenn Close and her 30-year quest to bring the short story Albert Nobbs, about a woman passing as a male butler in the nineteenth century, to the screen, Vulture’s West Coast editor, Claude Brodesser-Akner, has pulled out some of his favorites from cinema’s classic cross-dressing canon. Who knew that the well that gave us the French favorite La Cage aux Folles would eventually give us Juwanna Man? What a rich history.
