Back in 2009 (a bygone year that predates both Rooney Mara and the iPad), trailers were released for the Sam Worthington action vehicle Clash of the Titans, and they were full of amusingly quotable bits. Remember “Release the Kraken”? Remember the emphatic shrug of a tagline, “Titans Will Clash”? (So implicit in the title, and yet still so great!) Alas, the new trailer for its sequel, Wrath of the Titans, refuses to deliver any written cheese, forsaking most one-liners for the soundtracked dirge of Marilyn Manson’s “Sweet Dreams,” and delivering a perfectly acceptable tagline in “Feel the Wrath.” (Why not “Titans Will Have Wrath”? Why not “Get Your Wrath On”? Give us something to work with here, filmmakers!) So really, all we have to talk about here is the fact that Worthington has grown his hair out. Yay or nay, folks?
