Bill Maher’s Feb. 23 standup show “CrazyStupidPolitics: Bill Maher Live From Silicon Valley” will kick off a new Yahoo! comedy channel. Maher’s decision to distribute his special online echoes Louis C.K.’s recent announcement that he’s releasing his own next hour himself via PayPal. “I want to do my act so that millions of people, and not just thousands at a time, can see it,” Maher says.
The Yahoo! channel will also air our beloved web series Seven Minutes in Heaven from SNL’s Mike O’Brien, a Funny or Die web series featuring Seth Morris, and a weekly sketch series created by the agency that represents Ed Helms, Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer. Not a bad line-up. Yahoo!: it’s not just your mom’s homepage anymore!
