Bill Lawrence has yet another show in the production cycle, this time at Fox: Like Father, inspired by Lawrence’s relationship with his dad, will be a single-camera comedy that Lawrence will write, direct, and executive produce, the Hollywood Reporter writes. Lawrence already has a multi-camera comedy in the works at CBS in addition to Cougar Town, which returns on Valentine’s Day on ABC; Scrubs aired on NBC for most of its run, so that just leaves the CW. If you’ve had shows on four networks, don’t they just throw in the fifth one for free? Like Father seems like an adequate title, but half the fun of liking Cougar Town early on was coming up with alternate names. Instead, how about a terrible, off-putting title fans can fight over, like It’s a Dad, Dad World? Or Daddy Issues (yeesh)? Or Father Doesn’t Know Best? Or Dads What She Said?
