Often compared to Emma Stone, Suburgatory star Jane Levy has won herself a plum big-screen part. Deadline reports that she’ll play the lead in Evil Dead, the remake of Sam Raimi’s 1981 horror classic, after original star Lily Collins dropped out. Starring opposite Shiloh Fernandez as her brother, Levy will play a young woman who stays in a remote cabin with her friends to dry out after a recent overdose. Diablo Cody penned a rewrite on the production, which will be directed by Fede Alvarez; reports indicate that Levy’s character will essentially assume the role that Bruce Campbell’s Ash had in the original trilogy. Groovy!
