Pitchfork checked in with erstwhile LCD front man James Murphy yesterday (it was just his birthday, apparently. Happy birthday, James!) and, as happens these days whenever someone asks him what he’s up to, Murphy gave them some amusing updates. That coffee-making plan is still on, and he’s also been back in the studio with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Klaxons, Holy Ghost — plus Damon Albarn and Andre 3000, for a Converse collaboration due out next week. And then there’s the watch-making. “‘You know, like little watches that have lots of moving springs,’ he says in all seriousness, ‘I’d love to know more about how they’re made and see if I can make one, just one.’” Just one! James Murphy, why do you take everything good away from us?
