Millenials Are the Comedy Generation

A survey by Comedy Central has found that comedy is increasingly “essential to how young men view themselves and others.” Apparently, men born after 1981 would far rather be trapped in an elevator with Jon Stewart (63%) than Eli Manning (15%). Which raises the obvious question: would men born before 1981 or women born in any year prefer to be trapped in an elevator with Eli Manning than Jon Stewart? And if so, what? Jon Stewart would be charming and witty and banter with you about elevators! Eli Manning would probably just [sports reference]. Anyway, what do you think: has humor replaced music/sports/style as the dominant form of self-expression and identity formation for young people?
