In just a little over three months, Ridley Scott will (sort of) return to the world of Alien with his new sci-fi thriller Prometheus, and Fox has come up with a clever way to sell the movie that relies on nary a BRAMMM. The Prometheus viral campaign kicked off today with a TED Talk video “from the 2023 conference” starring Guy Pearce as a key figure from the mythology of the Alien series, Peter Weyland (who founded the company that’s always in rapacious pursuit of the titular extraterrestrial). Watch as he explains the Prometheus myth to you with production values notably better than the inspirational TED videos your friends usually post on Facebook.
