Are you ready to hear Connie Britton drawl “y’all” again? The Friday Night Lights star has signed on to ABC’s musical drama pilot Nashville, where she’ll play a veteran country singer paired with a young upstart (Hayden Panettiere). Britton was heavily in demand for a pilot this season coming off her stint on American Horror Story; looks like that FX series she had sold with David O. Russell (and was planning to segue to as recently as a few months ago) came to naught. Also of note: Britton’s husband on Nashville will be played by Eric Close, who recurred on American Horror Story as the husband Jessica Lange murdered when she caught him in bed with another woman. Watch out, Connie!
