There was a simpler time, back at the turn of the wmillennium, when a new Will Smith movie could be reliably counted upon to yield a new Will Smith song. (See: “Men in Black,” “Wild Wild West,” and the slightly less, uh, memorable but still festive “Black Suits Comin’ (Nod Ya Head).”) Smith fell off the soundtrack habit a bit in the mid-aughts, but Vulture assumed that he’d at least crank out one more earworm-y hit for Men in Black 3. We even predicted names for it! And we were wrong. The theme song is called “Back in Time,” and it will be performed by … Pitbull. No offense to Pitbull, but, nooo, this is so not how we wanted Summer 2012 radio to go.
