In this week’s Jeff Who Lives at Home, Susan Sarandon plays mom to Jason Segel’s pot-smoking man-child. At a screening of the movie hosted by the Peggy Siegel Company this week, we asked Sarandon: Would she tolerate a kid like Jeff in real life? “I don’t mind if they’re smoking weed in the basement if they have a job, and they’re functioning,” she says. “The problem with smoking weed all the time is if you’re not productive. Some of the most productive people I know are smoking weed!” As for the growing trend of adult children moving back in with their parents, she puts a positive spin on things: “I think we have to look at it as an opportunity to get to know your kids in a different way when they’re older.” Isn’t Andy Samberg’s mom the coolest?
