Downton’s Jessica Brown Findlay Lands Winter’s Tale

When last we saw Lady Sybil, she was skipping off into the Irish sunset with her chauffeur turned journalist fiancé. (He’s now her husband, and there’s an Irish-radical baby on the way.) The forced familial separation has apparently given Jessica Brown Findlay, who plays the youngest Crawley daughter on Downton Abbey, enough time to take on a movie, and she’s signed up for a big one: the Akiva Goldsman–helmed adaptation of Mark Helprin’s Winter’s Tale. Findlay will play the dying girl who becomes romantically involved with a thief who breaks into her home; Aaron Johnson and Garrett Hedlund are among the names rumored for that role. Meanwhile, Russell Crowe is apparently still in negotiations to play Pearly Soames, the gangster boss. The white flying horse has yet to be cast.
