Late last December, R. Kelly told a roving TMZ cameraperson that he’d written 32 brand-new chapters of the beloved musical saga known as Trapped in the Closet. All Kellz needed were investors, he said, and now, praise the weirdo R&B soap opera gods, he has found them. IFC will be airing new installments of Trapped later this very year, according to their website. This is really happening! On an actual television network! It is a magical world that we live in. Oh, and one more thought: If IFC wants to engineer an R. Kelly cameo on Portlandia, too, that would be totally cool with Vulture.
