The most dreadful yet partially exciting news ever: Breaking Bad’s previously announced sixteen-episode final season will be chopped up into two. “We’re going to shoot the first eight, then take a four-month production break, then the rest will air next year,” Bryan Cranston told EW from the set in New Mexico. The news sucks because, ugh, waiting, but it’s kinda good to know the suspenseful excellence will be a part of the world just a tad longer. Tentatively expect the first batch of season five to begin this July, followed by a Cranston-directed ninth episode launching the final stretch sometime in 2013. (Early 2013? Por favor?)
