Dick Clark’s death today at the age of 82 has prompted plenty of memories of New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and American Bandstand, and for good reason: They are his two iconic hosting roles, gigs so immortal that aliens in deep space will probably be watching them for light years to come. But during his amazing 60-year run in both radio and (mostly) television, Clark played ringmaster in many other ways, both on camera and behind the scenes.
