Neil Patrick Harris will return to host the Tonys again this year on June 10, the American Theater Wing announced last night. Great! He is great at this, and they should sign him up for at least the next handful. (Host five Tonys, get one Tonys free?) This is Harris’s third time hosting the Tonys, plus he hosted the Emmys in 2009, and the less prestigious but still good practice Video Game Awards in 2010 and TV Land Awards in 2009. He was terrific last year, but the show’s highlight was the recap rap at the end of the show, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. You can’t go to the recap-rap well every single year, but something impressive and hilarious along those lines should be required of every awards show at this point.
