Nicki Minaj’s Roman Reloaded Debuts at No. 1

The numbers aren’t huge, but Nicki Minaj’s schizophrenic sophomore effort did in fact land the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded sold 253,000 copies on its first week out, putting her a solid 100K above Adele but a good 100K below her original Pink Friday debut. (Billboard notes that Pink Friday owed its 375,000 at least in part to the holiday shopping season.) Meanwhile, Soundscan numbers confirm an earlier report that Madonna’s MDNA suffered the largest second-week-sales drop in chart history — it moved 48,000 copies, down from 359,000 last week. So, how long before Madonna is guesting on Nicki tracks? (Actually, how did that not happen on the second half of Roman Reloaded anyway?)
