Todd Barry Spins a Yarn about Not Really Having any Good Road Stories

Over at Black Book, Todd Barry wrote a properly dry and sarcastically titled essay, “Todd Barry’s Very Strange Road Stories.” It’s mostly about how nothing interesting has happened to him and how he isn’t very good at talking about it, if something has. He explains:

“The problem is I’ve never been much of a storyteller. I mean, I tell stories in my act, but they’re really short (like that one about me buying a shirt). But you’re not going to watch my show and go ‘man, why haven’t I seen this guy ripping it up at The Moth?’”

He tells four very short stories, where the most exciting conclusion of any of them involves Brandy (of Moesha “fame”). It’s very Todd Barry and very, very funny.
