Gabel, lead singer for Florida punk outfit Against Me!, tells Rolling Stone that she has been living with gender dysphoria for several years and will soon begin hormone treatments for gender reassignment. Gabel plans to take the name Laura Jane Grace once the transition is complete; she will stay married to his wife (“she’s been super-amazing and understanding”).
