Cannavale will play Ricky Roma opposite Al Pacino, who starred as Roma in the 1992 film adaptation and is attached to the 2012–2013 production in the role of Shelley Levine. Not that Broadway is short of movie-to-musical projects right now, but there’s a great Freaky Friday 2 pitch lurking somewhere in this serious theatrical endeavor. Free idea, producers!
