It’s been a good month for Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, who recently scored the Best Actor prize at Cannes and landed a villainous role in Thor 2. Now Mikkelsen (still best known as the baddie in Casino Royale) has been cast in NBC’s high-profile pilot Hannibal, where he’ll step into Anthony Hopkins’s loafers to play Dr. Lecter opposite Hugh Dancy’s inquisitive FBI agent. Plan on Mikkelsen chewing more than just the scenery.
