So, after the 2010 South Park episode in which Muhammad came to town in a bear costume, Jesse Curtis Morton began to threaten the show’s creators on the website Revolution Muslim. This included a message that insinuated that Trey Parker and Matt Stone “will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh.” In 2004, an Islamic militant murdered Van Gogh after he made a film that focused on the abuse of Muslim women. This morning Morton pleaded guilt to conspiracy, communicating threats, and using the Internet to intimidate. He was sentenced to 11 1/2 years in prison.
