After last night’s hilarious, Pinteresque confrontation between Nicki Minaj and D.J./spirit guide Funkmaster Flex, Hot 97 program director Ebro Darden dropped in on the “Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Morning Show” to tell his side of the Summer Jam story. In a nutshell, the Hot 97–Young Money beef started way back before Rosenberg’s “Starships” comments, as you might have gathered, and Hot 97 has no interest in apologizing. They do remain committed to throwing not-so-veiled shots in Nicki’s direction (“We support the records people don’t like,” etc.), so, that’s something to prepare for. Unrelated: Can we get a “just trying to spread my wings” update to the Flex soundboard? That was so great.
