Back in March, Ed Helms shot down rumors that he was being eyed for the lead in the reboot of National Lampoon’s Vacation, claiming, “I have no idea how and where those rumors got started. I’m not aware of any conversations about me doing that movie.” Apparently, conversations were had since, as Variety reports that Helms is now officially in talks to play Chevy Chase’s son and the new franchise lead. Bones and Freaks and Geeks actor John Francis Daley will co-direct with Jonathan Goldstein.
