Comic-Con audiences are still buzzing to see footage from Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit this Saturday, but they won’t see it in the revolutionary, controversial 48-frames-per-second format the director debuted months ago in Las Vegas. Instead, The Hobbit will screen scenes in regular old 2-D 24fps “so the focus stays firmly with the content and not the technical stuff,” Jackson told the Los Angeles Times. “If people want 3-D and 48fps, that choice will be there for them in December.” This shall not pass … muster.
