Lindsay Lohan recently tweeted that she wants to do some sort of Thelma & Louise remake with Jennifer Lawrence. So when Vulture caught up with Susan Sarandon — one half of the original duo (the half that did not have sex with Brad Pitt) — at a Hamptons screening of Robot & Frank this weekend, we asked her what she thinks of the idea. “I heard something about that tweet,” she told us, “and my response has nothing to do with the actors. I just think that what Ridley Scott created was so amazing, and I can’t imagine why you would want to redo it again.” Ever? Or is it maybe just too soon? “No, I’m not in favor of a remake, and I’m not sure what the idea behind it would be. It’s a great story that could maybe be redone in a different context, with perhaps two guys. But re-creating it similarly to the way it was already done doesn’t make sense to me.” (We agree. Though we do think Lindsay could pull off that end scene, given her driving skills.) For more celebrity quotes from the Cinema Society screening, click through our slideshow.
