It’s been a good summer for Seth Meyers, the Saturday Night Live star told us last night at the premiere of Lawless. “I spent a wonderful week with Kelly Ripa,” Meyers said. “It was a real game-changer.” Still, despite rumors that guest co-host Meyers was the top pick to become permanent on Live With Kelly, Meyers insisted to us that he has no interest in filling Regis Philbin’s shoes at the morning talk show. “I feel bad for whoever ends up having to follow him,” said Meyers. “You realize, doing the week, the amount of energy you have to generate at an early hour. I’m way better at ramping into 90 minutes once a week late on a Saturday.” Still, he’d be willing to take Ripa’s call, provided it was for the right occasion. “Look, if Kelly called on me for a dinner party, I’m ready,” joked Meyers. And if she needed him to babysit her kids? “I would be ready for that, too. Although, hearing her talk about them, I feel like it’s a two-person job.”
