So This Rihanna-Oprah Interview Is Going to Be Emotional

This Sunday, Oprah will air the highlights of a long sitdown with tireless pop star and Instagram enthusiast Rihanna, and in case there were any doubts about what topics might be covered, the OWN network has helpfully released the Chris Brown clip ahead of time. It is, as you might expect, hard to watch; Rihanna is crying for most of the clip, and she talks about how concerned she was for Brown in the weeks following his brutal 2009 assault. “He made that mistake because he needed help,” she says at one point, “and who’s gonna help him?”

There is also this second preview clip, in which Rihanna drives around Barbados and tells Oprah about the kind of man who could help her get past the Brown assault: “I want a man that loves me, cherishes me, values me … They have to know my worth, and they can only know my worth if I know my worth.” Oof, feelings alert on high for this one.
