Last night on The Late Show, Mindy Kaling found herself in the hot seat, made just too hot, awkward, and uncomfortable by David Letterman that she had to rectify the situation. No, The Mindy Project is not a spin-off of The Office. “It’s actually on a different network” — Fox, not NBC — but, “I mean, it’s a fair enough question,” she demurred. And no — for the second time — she is not an alcoholic who will confess to drinking herself to oblivion. “This line of questioning is leading to an area that is going to be problematic for me, uhhh, in launching a new television show,” she stated. “I just want to be honest!” A real class act.
