We speak here in terms of chart performance and not, you know, musical similarity, but remember: “Since U Been Gone,” arguably the greatest happy breakup jam of this millennium, peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100. This week, despite its massive YouTube success and the near-ubiquity of the gallop dance, Psy’s “Gangnam Style” is still stuck behind Maroon 5. It seems impossible that this will last, but then, that’s what they said about Kelly.
