Here’s the cast for The Monuments Men, George Clooney’s next directing project that he’ll also star in: Cate Blanchett, Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, Hugh Bonneville, and Bob Balaban. Do you think he first sent the casting announcement to Ben Affleck with a note that read, “Nice try with that last movie of yours, but I got James Bond and Dr. Venkman. Ar-go fuck yourself, friend”? The film, which Clooney co-wrote with Grant Heslov (Good Night, and Good Luck), focuses on a group of art historians and curators during WWII that attempts to rescue stolen works of art before the Nazis destroy them. Though we’d probably just as likely pay to watch this crew hang on Clooney’s Italian yacht.
