Ratings Down for Most Tuesday Night Comedies

Ratings are in for last night’s shows, and most of the network comedies are down significantly. On Fox, New Girl scored a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 15% from 2.7 last week, and The Mindy Project earned a 1.5, down 21% from last week’s 1.9. When it comes to Fox’s 9pm competition on ABC, Happy Endings got a 1.4, down 22% from last week’s 1.8, and Don’t Trust the B received 1.2 (a series low), down 29% from 1.7 last week. Happy Endings’ week ratings can be attributed to its weak lead-in, Dancing with the Stars, which hit another series low last night.

Fox’s 8pm hour shows, Raising Hope (1.7) and Ben and Kate (1.4) were even with last week. These low ratings can be partially blamed on power outages caused by Hurricane Sandy and on three big networks all scheduling comedies at the same night and time, head-to-head-to-head (although NBC’s Tuesday sitcoms, Go On and New Normal were pre-empted last night for some sort of singing competition).
