Written by Parks & Recreation writer Katie Dippold and directed by Paul Feig, The Heat is a buddy cop picture of sorts with Sandra Bullock in the uptight, straight man role and Melissa McCarthy in the loose cannon role. Together they track a drug dealer, create a dance routine, cheer poorly, snap spanx, and drop perps from fire escapes — you know, cop stuff.
