Netflix Instant Adds a Bunch of Fake ‘Arrested Development’ Shows and Movies

The new season of Arrested Development is set to debut on Netflix Instant in 2013, but today, Netflix’s “Watch Instantly” just added a bunch of fake movies and TV shows from the first three seasons of Arrested Development to the streaming service. Titles like Girls with Low Self Esteem: Newport Beach, Les Cousins Dangereux, Scandalmakers, and Boyfights appear as “Watch Instantly” options. Although the links just go to Netflix’s Arrested Development page, the cover art and synopses from these fake shows are pretty entertaining and an early example of some of the cool Netflix bonus material we might be getting when Season 4 debuts next year (Most of the art is taken from early seasons of the show and yes, the Girls with Self Esteem: Newport Beach cover reads Girls with Low Self Esteem: Orlando, Florida). The whole thing is kinda silly and weird, but it seems to just be a clever way to try to get fans to start rewatching the show before the new episodes kick off. Hit the jump for a look at all 10 of the fake Arrested Development movies and shows “available” on Netflix. Thanks to Avi Gold for the tip!
