Michael Ausiello over at TV Line just put out a list of “The 36 Most Wanted Actors and Actresses” for 2013’s pilot season, with the networks seeking to cast a lot of familiar faces in new shows. As soon as the big networks finish picking which TV pilots they’re greenlighting, they’ll start the casting process that kicks off “pilot season” early next year. On Ausiello’s list of the most in-demand performers is the cast of Community. While the critically-acclaimed but low-rated NBC series is still on the air and returns for a fourth season in February, its future beyond that season remains uncertain and will largely rest on how said season performs with Nielsen viewers/the mercy of NBC executives. Some of the stars of Community are expected to star in TV pilots this season before Community’s fate is certain, putting these new shows in “second position” to Community, meaning that they will drop the new series if Community gets picked up for a fifth season. And of course, Chevy Chase is completely up for grabs now that he’s officially left the show, and he should be a top choice for any showrunner after proving he’s such a delight to work with.
Here are all the comedy and comedy-adjacent people who made the “36 Most Wanted” list: Rose Byrne, Anna Camp, the cast of Community, Anna Faris, Brendan Fraser, Kelsey Grammer, Katherine Heigl, Jane Krakowski, Téa Leoni, Justin Long, James Marsden, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Becki Newton, Jason Ritter
