Vulture makes showbiz dreams come true! Just days after Allison Janney told us she wanted to return to the small screen (in order to “make some money and be at home for a little bit”), the West Wing vet has landed a gig opposite Anna Faris in CBS’s Chuck Lorre–produced comedy pilot Mom. The project has Faris playing a recently sober single mother living in California’s wine country; Janney will play the character’s mom. While Mom is technically still in the pilot stage, this is a Lorre project at CBS, which means its chance of eventually getting on the air is about 90 percent. And for those of you keeping track at home, Lorre wrote the pilot script for Mom with Gemma Baker and Eddie Gorodetsky.
