Comedy Central Launches a Digital Wing Called CC Studios

Ready to acknowledge that the internet is here to stay, Comedy Central just announced the launch of a digital production company called CC Studios that will produce content for the web and other non-TV platforms. CC Studios dropped its first two web shows today: Bro-Dependent, in which The Groundlings’ H. Michael Croner and Greg Worswick play a couple of bros, and Couched, in which comedian Ben Hoffman crashes with college kids for a weekend as a tie-in with his new Comedy Central show The Ben Show. CC Studios will also be releasing content across a number of platforms from “animated GIFs to voice mail to comic strips.” Other web shows in development include one from sibling comedy duo The Lucas Brothers and Behind Amy Schumer, another tie-in with a new Comedy Central star.
