Conan O’Brien Is Producing a Fox Comedy from a ‘Community’ Writer

TV development season is winding down, but Conan O’Brien just sold a new sitcom to Fox that he’ll produce through his company Conaco, Deadline reports. Fox has given a script order for a pilot to the show, called Bob’s New Heart Show (a play on the title of The Bob Newhart Show). It’s a single-camera medical comedy written by Ben Wexler (Community, The Good Guys, Still Standing) and revolving around “a young hotshot doctor who, after receiving a heart transplant, re-evaluates his life and takes over the small family practice in the working-class neighborhood where he grew up.” Conaco currently produces O’Brien’s eponymous TBS talk show and Chris Elliott’s Adult Swim series Eagleheart and is developing a pilot called Super Fun Night that Rebel Wilson is writing and starring in for ABC. So, hopefully this show gets picked up and Conan O’Brien keeps hiring funny people to make funny things.
