Catherine O’Hara Will Star in a New Fox Pilot

Living comedy legend Catherine O’Hara has been cast in a new Fox sitcom called To My Future Assistant, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The SCTV alum and Christopher Guest movie mainstay will be playing a supporting role in in the show, which follows a bunch of assistants at a New York law firm who band together in order to cope with their overbearing, unpleasant bosses. O’Hara’s character is Magda, an accomplished, powerful, two-faced attorney. To My Future Assistant is based on the blog and upcoming book To My Assistant by ex-Hollywood assistant Lydia Whitlock. The pilot was written by Sherry Bilsing-Graham (Friends) and Ellen Kreamer (The New Adventures of Old Christine) and will be directed by Peyton Reed (Yes Man). If the show gets picked up, this will be Catherine O’Hara’s first regular TV gig since she left SCTV in 1982, so the prospect of seeing her on TV again on a weekly basis is pretty exciting.
