‘Super Troopers 2’ to Possibly Shoot This Year

The guys from the comedy group Broken Lizard have been talking about making a sequel to their 2001 movie Super Troopers for years now, but it looks like it’s finally happening. Director Jay Chandrasekhar told the press last year that they’re hoping to make the movie “eventually,” but now the movie is set to potentially film in 2013. Here’s star/writer Kevin Heffernan talking to Guy Speed:

“There will be a Super Troopers sequel. We put it off for a while and then came back to it. We wrote the script and handed in to Fox and now we’re just negotiating the time and the place and hopefully shoot it some time this year. I have to start growing my mustache now.”

So, there you have it. You can expect to see a Super Troopers movie sometime in the next two years, maybe. If you want to laugh at shoddy police work until then, you’ll just have to stick to the first Super Troopers, Reno 911! reruns, Andy Samberg’s upcoming Fox cop sitcom, Fox’s new animated show Murder Police, the Melissa McCarthy-Sandra Bullock buddy movie The Heat, or like, the Keystone Cops. Options are limited.
