Yesterday we ran a piece on comedian Maria Bamford’s struggle with mental illness and her use of comedy to overcome it. Bamford’s 2003 debut album The Burning Bridges Tour, recorded at the Acme Comedy Company in Minneapolis, MN in October of 2002, showcases the comedian’s honesty and unique creativity that have found themselves fully realized in material like last year’s Special Special Special. Bamford’s revolution has been long in the making, and it’s nice to hear her coming into her own unconventional style in her earlier material.
