The lyrics in question, from Rocko’s “U.N.E.N.O,” are “Put molly all in her Champagne, she ain’t even know it/ I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it,” and understandably, many people are upset about it. (A petition to have Rick Ross dropped from his Reebok endorsement has 50,000 signatures and counting.) Rick Ross tried to deflect the criticisms during a radio interview, saying that the lyrics were misunderstood and that “woman is the most precious gift known to man.” Today, he tried again on Twitter: “I don’t condone rape. Apologies for the #lyric interpreted as rape.” Nope, that is still not an actual apology.
