With Up All Night behind him, Will Arnett has found his next project: acting in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. THR reports that he’s been cast in a secret role in the reboot, which reimagines the popular late ‘80s/early ‘90s characters as aliens and is produced by Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans, Battle Los Angeles). The new Ninja Turtles movie features a quartet of unknown actors in motion-capture suits to play the titular turtles, and Megan Fox has been cast as the Turtles’ friend April O’Neil. THR points out that Arnett will not be playing Casey Jones and that the roles of the Turtles’ rat mentor Splinter and nemesis Shredder have yet to be cast. Will Arnett can next be seen in the new season of Arrested Development, which premieres next month on Netflix, and he’s currently filming an untitled CBS pilot created by Greg Garcia, which are two projects that fit him much better than Michael Bay’s big-budget alien Ninja Turtles movie.
