The Game of Thrones Guys Wrote an Episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA: Clockwise from Left: Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito in the IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA episode Chardee Macdennis airs Thursday, Oct. 27 at 10pm e/p. . CR: Patrick McElhenney / FX

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Rob McElhenney is, like many members of our species, a Game of Thrones fan. Enough so that he doesn’t mind letting Thrones co-creators/screenwriters D.B. Weiss and David Benioff write an episode, a job almost always reserved for McElhenney and his co-stars. Benioff is known for nonstop laugh-fests like Stay, Brothers, and 25th Hour, so it makes a good amount of sense.
