The first trailer for August: Osage County is here, and it sure does look prestigious! Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Sam Shepard, Ewan McGregor, Chris Cooper, Abigail Breslin, Juliette Lewis, Dermot Mulroney, Benedict Cumberbatch, Margo Martindale — that’s a lot of famous people to cram in to one film, let alone one house. The trailer makes it look like there’s sort of a knowing quirk-factor to the movie, in the vein of, say, Little Miss Sunshine or The Descendants, which isn’t exactly the tone of the play, but hey, those pop-folky Magnetic Zeros songs have to accompany something.
