Writer/director Joe Swanberg, who made Hannah Takes the Stairs and the upcoming summer release Drinking Buddies, made a movie last year that the public didn’t know about until this week. Swanberg revealed to Indiewire that in December, he filmed an independent movie tentatively called Happy Christmas that stars Anna Kendrick, Lena Dunham, Melanie Lynskey, and Mark Webber. Details about the movie are few and far between but it is set in Chicago, “focuses on a family and is set during the holidays.” The director hopes to take Happy Christmas to festivals in 2014, meaning that non-festival folk will probably be able to see it later next year.
