Sundance Wants More Rectify

Sundance Channel has renewed its gorgeous, tragic drama Rectify for a ten-episode second season, the network announced today. The new episodes should air in 2014. The show follows Daniel Holden (Aden Young) as he tries to reintegrate himself into small-town life after being released from prison, where he spent twenty years on death row. The six-episode first season covers only six days, and the show cares much more about atmosphere than narrative clarity; you always know exactly where you are, but you don’t always know exactly what’s going on. In a good way! If you haven’t watched Rectify, watch Rectify, if only to marvel at Abigail Spencer’s perfectly imperfect hair.
